CSLCup Sponsors
The CSL Cup is being mainly sponsored by:
|
The CSL Cup is delighted to be supported by a collection of great motorsport companies. We have created the series to offer maximum support for the drivers. All of our sponsors are in place to offer maximum gains to the people that matter - the competitors.

Teng Tools UK

Topping the list of partners for the series is Teng Tools, long suppliers of race equipment to CSL Cup founder Thorney Motorsport Teng Tools have really come on board with the CSL Cup especially to support those competitors without huge team support. As a direct result of their support the CSL Cup is offering all the competitors a completely free race for the first round at Rockingham on April 18th. Colin North, Managing Director of Teng Tools UK said “The CSL Cup shows the potential to be a great series with real GT racing for a fraction of the usual budget, what attracted us to become more involved was the fact that our investment to the series is being channelled straight to the competitors, who lets face it are the series, without them there is no racing.” As well as paying for the first race for competitors Teng Tools are also providing an extensive set of their top quality tools for the driver who most clearly reflects the self support that racing requires. Colin continues “What better way to support the driver than by the award of a top quality set of Teng Tools, plus lets face it the Teng eyes look damn cool on the cars!”

Dunlop UK

Following Teng Tools are Dunlop who are the control tyre supplier for the series. Using specified compound slicks Dunlop have worked closely with the series organisers to offer a cost effective, durable slick that offers maximum grip from the BMW E46 chassis. Competitors are limited to one set per race meeting which means costs are kept low but at the same time allowing close, high speed racing. James Bailey, PR Manager for Dunlop said “The CSL Cup has real promise, from a driver perspective these are real high specification race cars but very cost effective to build and run”

Greenergy / Tesco 99
Lots of race series have control fuels but the net effect of these kinds of deals is the increase in costs to the competitors, rather than follow this same idea the CSL Cup series have worked with a fuel supplier for some time to ensure the best possible fuel can be made available for all the competitors but without any incremental cost. John Thorne, Thorney Motorsport team owners said “We’ve worked with Greenergy, the suppliers of the Tesco 99 fuel for some time including extensive testing on the BMW M3 and CSL’s and the results are impressive, the difference between a standard 95 octane fuel and the Tesco 99 Octane fuel is nearly 40bhp on the CSL so its not to be sniffed at.” The Tesco 99 Octane fuel is a recommended fuel for the series but competitors are not forced to use it, however we strongly suggest they do!

MSAR Safety Systems
Another partnership deal designed to keep car preparation costs low for competitors MSAR Safety have worked with the series to create specific CSL Cup safety package deals. Everything from Schroth harness’s Hans devices, FEV fire extinguisher systems and in car camera systems are on offer to registered CSL Cup competitors for discounted costs. Malcolm Saunders, MD MSAR Safety said “MSAR is all about keeping costs low for competitors, I’m a racer personally so what we try to offer is to maximise the safety of the driver without breaking the bank in terms of costs, the CSL Cup shows the promise of close competitive racing for reasonable costs, thats what MSAR is all about.”

Milltek Sport Exhausts
A long term strategic partner of Thorney Motorsport, Milltek Sport was the logical choice for the creation of a custom CSL Cup race exhaust specifically for the series. With most BMW M3 race cars running on adapted road versions of exhausts Milltek Sport have designed a CSL Cup race exhaust specifically for the rigors of the racing environment. Phil Millington, Managing Director, Milltek Sport said “Road based systems are all very well but racing generates a whole new area of challenges for us, with the CSL Cup system we have created the lightest M3 system possible but uniquely incorporated an FIA approved catalytic converter to maximise power but still keep emissions within production car levels.” It is important that the CSL Cup embraces the concept of green motorsport, the adoption of enforced running of cats is part of that process.

Team Dynamics Wheels UK
Keeping with the ethos of both cost effective car preparation together with levelled performance, especially in the standard class the CSL Cup series selected the Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 wheel as a control item. Competitors are still able to run standard wheels should they desire but the Pro Race 1.2 is lightweight, cheap, strong, reliable and readily available – perfect for a cost effective yet fast racing series.
