Stringfellow wins CSL Cup 2009
Wow, what an end to the first season of the CSL Cup, truly exciting racing in both races and two deserving champions at the end. The weekend started on a low point really, Geoff Steel wasn’t able to repair his car from the incident at Croft when Jamie Martin side swiped him out at Sunny Out and John Harrison who was battling Darren Humphrey in the standard class has sold his car to a new driver for next season who sadly couldn’t make the final round this year so that left us with a thinner grid than we’d have liked for the last race. The good news was that Duncan White had done some further work on his car with more power and less weight so moved up into the modified class for only his second ever race weekend.

Stringfellow & Thorne share the honours.
With the weather holding out everyone attacked on the Dunlop Slicks. With a couple of ‘changes’, Dan Stringfellow was keen to set the early pace; he failed to elaborate on these ‘changes’! Jamie Martin had removed his rear wing, perhaps to take advantage of the long high-speed sections. Steve Gill was looking to make an impression following his gearbox troubles at Brands Hatch in June.

Mixed Results at Brands Hatch for all Teams
The week running up to Brands was a stressful one. With a few late cancellations due to readiness (or lack there of it) the organisers were worried the grid would look a little sparse. As qualifying approached, we saw 8 cars on the grid; 5 slotting into the Modified Class, and 3 into the Standard Class. Yet this time, no invitation cars...
